Let’s meet Akshay – a textile technologist by training and profession with nearly two decades of experience in the textile industry. Today Akshay brings that expertise to both domestic and international projects for Sorona® in Hyderabad, India.
What did you study?
After earning several degrees, including a B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph. D. in Textiles and a post graduate diploma in Business Administration, Akshay went to work with textile companies like Arvind, Vardhman and Trident, before joining DuPont 8 years ago.
Role: As part of his role, Akshay does research and application development in India for both the domestic and global markets. His projects range from working on Sarees for Indian women to creating outerwear for The North Face to a stretchable sewing threads for stretchable fabrics.

Right now, Akshay is excited to be finding different applications with a distinguished value proposition for Sorona® and other new high-performance polymers.

How is your experience working at Dupont?
Akshay enjoys working at DuPont because he’s been given a lot of freedom in his role, whether that’s working directly with end customers or in a more technical manner in the lab. He greatly enjoys seeing his team’s ideas implemented in products filling shops around the world.
